Former Loan Officer charged with Fraud

Lillian W. Tressler and Joey C. Hedden have been charged with defrauding the National Bank of South Carolina. Then National Bank South Carolina was founded in Sumter, South Carolina.

The indictment charges that Ms. Tressler, age 56 from Westminster, South Carolina recommended to Mr. Hedden, age 55, from Anderson, South Carolina that he obtain loans in the names of friends and family for his own benefit.  Mr. Hedden obtained loans in the amount of five hundred forty nine thousand dollars between 2004 and 2008. The loans obtained by Mr. Hedden were all approved by Ms. Tressler. Mr. Hedden provided fraudulent statements in regard the individuals’ financial status and employment status on the applications in which he forged family and friends signatures on.

Attorney for Mr. Hedden, Sarah Drawdy would only comment that her client was innocent of the charges.

Ms. Tressler upon being reached stated that she was not aware of any charges against her and declined to commit on the case.

The pair if convicted face years of prison time and one million dollar fines.

The case was investigated by the Secret Service. The case will be prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney William J. Watkins Jr.
