Loan Officer in Salem Oregon accused of ID theft

The Salem Oregon Police Department, The Department of Justice and the Oregon Department of Consumer and Business Services announced in a press release on September 23RD that after a two month investigation they have arrested Julian Ruiz.

Mr. Ruiz, 38 of Keizer was arrested Wednesday morning by the Salem Oregon Police Department around nine am. Ruiz was employed at American One Finance until the company went out of business. His position at the company was that of a Loan Originator for mortgage loans.

The charges against Mr. Ruiz stem from the financing of a residential property in the nine hundred block of Camelot Drive South. The financing of the property was for over three hundred thousand dollars however it was obtained with personal information that was stolen from a former customer of American One Finance. The property has since been foreclosed upon in 2007.

Mr. Ruiz is also accused of stealing another customer’s identity to obtain financing on a home in the thirty seven hundred block of Illahe Hill Road South for over four hundred thousand dollars. The residential property at this location has also been foreclosed upon.

The Oregon Police Department is currently holding Mr. Ruiz at the Marion County Correctional Facility. The charges against him are aggravated theft 1 by deception, mortgage fraud, forgery 1 and issuing a false financial statement.
