Five indicted on Mortgage Fraud in Pennsylvania

The United States Attorney’s General Office in Pennsylvania has indicted five individuals on mortgage fraud.

The defendants were alleged to have run a scam that pledged to assist homeowners who were in distress and facing foreclosure. The homeowners were then stripped of the equity in the home and the ring used the monies for personal gain.

The case involves thirty five mortgage loans that were obtained through fraudulent means at the expense of the homeowners that were involved.

The defendants in the case are facing multiple charges that involve mail and wire fraud according to authorities close to the case. The fraud involved is alleged to have netted over fourteen million dollars.

The individuals that were indicted are:

John Bariana, from Mullica Hill, Pennsylvania and Edward McCusker, from New Hope, Pennsylvania, both co-owned Axium Mortgage Inc based in Pennsylvania.

Jeffrey Bennett of Springfield, Pennsylvania and Stephen Doherty who are both attorneys.

Jacqueline McCusker from New Hope, Pennsylvania was also charge and is Edward McCuskers wife.
